Patricia Stirbys, Founder and Managing Director

Patricia is a social entrepreneur. As the Founder and Managing Director of OneWorld Workforce Solutions, Patricia strives to help organizations reach their diversity goals, while creating inclusive, diverse workplaces for Aboriginal Peoples.  Patricia is responsible for day-to-day operations, as well as external matters of OneWorld Workforce which includes building partnerships and broader business relationships.

With over 22 years of experience working on a variety of Aboriginal issues with federal, provincial and Aboriginal governments, Patricia has a strong interest in helping Aboriginal communities and individuals succeed.  Patricia is a former Director of Human Resources & Programs with her First Nation community.

Patricia is proud of her First Nation and Eastern European ancestry.  She graduated with her LL.B. from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Common Law and practiced in the areas of administrative law and civil litigation.  Following her graduation with a Master of Laws (Law & Technology), Patricia taught in the Common Law Faculty at the University of Ottawa. Patricia is an experienced negotiator, with a specialization in Aboriginal Relations and Community Engagement.  She advises and acts on behalf of mineral exploration, construction and renewable energy companies in Aboriginal community engagement.  It is through her work with several companies that Patricia recognized the significant need for skilled workers in a variety of sectors and for companies to engage with the Aboriginal workforce as an untapped resource in the labour market.  Patricia is a member of the Aboriginal Affairs Committee and the Convention Organizing Committee with the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada.
