OneWorld Workforce Solutions helps organizations reach their diversity goals, while creating an inclusive workplace for Aboriginal peoples.

The local workforce is changing rapidly and becoming more diverse and, it seems, the global workforce is becoming more and more the reality.  Human resource planning is an ongoing challenge for many companies. The last decade has seen a steady year-over-year growth in the use of temporary and contract workers. As organizations strive to remain competitive in a challenging, global environment, they need to improve the way they hire, engage and develop talent to fill the gaps. OneWorld Workforce Solutions wants to help organizations reach their diversity goals, while creating inclusive, diverse workplaces for Aboriginal Peoples and Indigenous peoples worldwide.

Dramatic changes in Canada’s demographics add to employer challenges as Statistics Canada latest findings show that almost one person out of four in the labour force could be aged 55 or over by 2021.  The Conference Board of Canada estimates that over the next 10 years, there will be a million jobs going unfilled across the country. With an aging workforce and a growing need for an educated and skilled labour force, employers in all sectors are looking for people with the passion and skills needed to meet the demand.

One source of skilled workers is Canada’s Aboriginal population. Canada’s Aboriginal population – First Nations, Métis, and Inuit –are young, increasingly more educated and yet, remain an untapped resource for the labour market. Since 2001, the population of Aboriginal people of working age (15-64 years) has increased by 25%. With anticipated shortages across many sectors, this growing population may constitute a key source of labour.  They are eager to offer their diverse skills and take on an active and meaningful role within an organization.

Organizations now actively incorporate contingent workers into their talent strategy.  By adding Aboriginal labour to your contingent workforce, your organization can gain fresh talent, new approaches to problem-solving and unique experiences from outside the company or outside your sector.   By tapping into the Aboriginal workforce, organizations can access a young talent pool and manage their workforce needs in response to changing markets.

The use of contingent workers is an important decision for any organization.  By understanding the competency gaps in your organization, managing risks associated with contingent workers and having access to a ready and eager pool of talent, your organization can use contingent workers to more easily adjust to changing markets.

OneWorld Workforce Solutions helps to simplify the process of procuring and managing contract labour on-boarding, administration and payment processing for organizations of all sizes and across all industry sectors.
